What it's actually like to live here
Northville’s downtown is the reason people fall for it. Brick-paved streets, Victorian storefronts, restaurants and shops within a few blocks of one another, and something happening in the square through most of the year. For this part of Michigan, the historic core is unusually intact.
Like Plymouth, Northville is split between a city and a township, and the distinction matters more than the shared name suggests. The city is the walkable historic center. The township runs north and west with newer subdivisions and larger lots. School boundaries do not always follow the municipal lines here, so the district is worth confirming for the exact address rather than assuming it from the town.
Mill Race Village preserves a cluster of historic buildings just north of downtown and is worth an hour if you are trying to get a feel for the place. The former Northville Downs site at the south end of downtown is being redeveloped, and what happens there will shape that end of town for years. We are glad to share where it currently stands.

City or township?
Two municipalities, one name. Different tax bills, different lot sizes, and a very different walk to downtown.
Confirm the school district
Boundaries here do not line up neatly with city lines. Check the address, not the town name.
Historic homes, historic upkeep
The older housing near downtown is beautiful. A thorough inspection and a realistic maintenance budget are well worth planning for.
