NOVI

Newer construction, easy access, and the most conveniently placed of the six.
Novi, Michigan

What it's actually like to live here

Novi grew quickly and the housing shows it. Much of the city is subdivisions built from the nineties onward — newer systems, open floor plans, consistent build quality. For a house where nothing needs attention on day one, Novi is usually the shortest path to it.

It is also the most commercially convenient place on this list. Twelve Oaks, the corridors along Novi Road and Grand River, and quick access to I-96 and M-5 mean you are rarely far from anything. That convenience is the trade for the small-town texture you would find in Plymouth or Northville.

One point catches many buyers by surprise: Novi is not served by a single school district. Novi Community School District covers much of it, but parts of the city fall into Northville, Walled Lake or South Lyon depending on where you are. It is worth confirming for the specific address early in the search.

Before you decide

What we'd want you to know

Check the district every time

Novi is split across several school districts. The town name alone does not indicate which one an address falls into.

Newer homes carry newer costs

Association fees are common and newer construction commands a premium. The monthly figure is the more telling comparison.

Convenience over charm

If a walkable downtown is the priority, Plymouth or Northville may suit better. If ease and newer construction matter more, Novi makes a strong case.
